Equal Eimer Opportunity

Kaitlyn Eimer

A few weeks ago, I told you about Molly Eimer, who recently left for a 9 month missions stint in the Philippines.

Her sister, Kaitlyn, (pictured above) has also recently left for a missions opportunity in Ethiopia.

Please continue to keep the Eimer family in your prayers, and especially the inimitable Eimer twins.

Here, Mark says that his Gospel (the Gospel about Jesus Messiah) actually began 700 years before Jesus was born.

The quotation that begins in 1:2 is actually a conglomeration of three different passages (Exodus, Isaiah & Malachi).

Isaiah has always enjoyed a place of prominence in the Prophets (the Nev’i'im), and so he is quoted as the source for all the info in 1:2,3.

The messenger who will prepare the way comes to us from the end of the last writing prophet in the OT, and represents the last word from God until John comes before Jesus.

His role as Eiijah is confirmed again and again in Mark’s Gospel both by Jesus and by the Gospel writer, Mark.

He will “prepare the way” for Messiah by encouraging repentance before the “great and awesome day of the LORD” (Malachi 4).

His preparative ministry in Mark 1 is exciting and compelling, as the verses which follow will demonstrate…
