You’ve already made too many mistakes
To ever amount to anything great
You’re not allowed to dream out loud
You’re far too young to even count
You’re much too poor without any doubt
And you haven’t done nearly enough
To deserve any grace or anyone’s love
God, speak truth.
To the lies we’ve believed instead of you
You’re in the wrong city for that line of work
And you’ll never make it unless you’re a jerk
Live for yourself and store up more wealth
We’ve traded in dreams and youthful ideals
For less noble things of paying the bills
And trying our best to look like the rest
While hiding our fears by the way we all dress
God, speak truth
To the paychecks we have trusted instead of you.
The most recent reason why Radiohead is consistently the most interesting band on the planet.
Here’s a fascinating look at the making of the video:
And here’s the actual video itself (with explanation):
In Radiohead’s new video for “House of Cards”, no cameras or lights were used. Instead, 3D plotting technologies collected information about the shapes and relative distances of objects. The video was created entirely with visualizations of that data.
I hear these times are the end. And another one must fall down.
I don’t think I believe it. When another one must fall down.
Give us the distance. And another one will fall down.
The sun in the open sky. Fall down.
Stare back into my own eyes. Fall down.
A stranger in my own skin. Fall down.
One decade later. And another one must fall down.
The earth isn’t humming. I watched them all fall down.
Fell into the sound in front of me. Unchanged by those around.
Directionless. An open sea. We’ll watch as time tumbles down.
The sun in the open sky. Fall down. Fall down.
Stare back into my own eyes. Fall down. Fall down.
