What do the pharisees constitute as actual work done on the sabbath?
What is the significance of Elijah and Moses being transfigured with Jesus and not any of the patriarchs?
How did OT believers come to know God? On page 5 you talked about Jesus’ death bringing an era of salvation for all nations… but what did they do to personally know the Lord before His Son came? Did people like Adam & Eve go to Heaven? And with that, I didn’t mean to ask you to answer something from silence, or to have to fill in the blanks yourself… so, sorry.
so if the pharisees believed that you could not do work on the sabbath then how could they constitute getting together and having a meeting to kill jesus?? or did they not consider that work?
Ok, I know we’ve talked about this before…but I still just don’t get it.
On page 10, the Disciples are still clueless as to who Jesus really was, and they just watched him SPEAK to the wind and the waves and they obeyed him.
I mean, I can sorta give them a break with not understanding all the parables and forshadowings and some of his sermons, because they didn’t have the 2000 years of looking back on it and thinking about it…But with the in the case of the calming of the Sea, wouldn’t it be even more convincing and obvious if you were there in the boat, being thrown around by the storm, and you actually Heard Jesus talk down the waves (The way the disciples were), than if you were separated from the even by 2000 years, and the only account of it was what was written down a long time ago (the way we are).
I just don’t get how they didn’t get it yet, when they had this amazing outpouring of Jesus’ power, on such a large scale, right in front of their eyes.
on page 13, what does it mean when it says ” the disciples are urged to heed the voice of Jesus, uniquely, and distinctly from the voices of Elijah and Moses.”?
on page 6 it said that many have said that the reign of the messiah was the end of the demons, and agian on page 16 it said that by his coming he delivered the people from demonic bondage. people are still possesed by demons today. was this rescue from the demons only for his people and not the gentiles?
and, scientificly, how did jesus walk on water? hehehehehehehehehehahahahahahahahahahaheheheheheehhehe
Did most people in Jesus’ day actually believe Jesus to be the son of God? And for those people who didn’t believe in him, where did they think he got the ability to perform miracles and do so many amazing things?
On page 6 and page 10 it talks about unclean spirits and the Gerasene Demoniac. It says that “Jesus’ words alone caused the demon to come out…” What do you believe about the act of casting out demons today?
My question was pretty much the same as the others. Why could the Pharisees say that nobody was allowed to work? Don’t you think that they probably did daily tasks like pick up around the hut? i’m just sayin …
On page 4 when it talks about God declaring Jesus as His son at the baptism and the heavens being opened up and all that jazz. Was it like a big scene where time seems to stand still and there is a spotlight on Jesus or what? could you help me understand that a little better? Please?
On the end of page 8 into page 9 it takes about Jesus sleeping in a boat during a storm. He talks about how ancient people feared sea storms because of the threat to life they brought. He then says that by Jesus sleeping it adds to his divine self-confidence. I feel like that is kind’ve reading into it some. What are you thoughts on this?
on page 6 you mention “the control of the Holy Spirit upon Jesus.” does jesus have the Holy Spirit upon him, since he is God?
how does that work?
It makes a big deal about not working on the Sabbath. it says to honnor it, but i was just wondering why its so strict; why did the PHarasees demand that the entire day not include any work. like today we go to church, but still have things to occupy our day? are we in the wrong to do that?
