Top 50 Albums from my iTunes Library

Well, here’s my first take at a list.

There will be more posted.

I have intentionally limited myself to these few hundred records (the ones in my iTunes library – 4000 songs) in order to keep it simpler.

I’ve also limited it to complete albums in my library.

They are alphabetical in order.

There’s a heavy dose of critics’ favorites here, but also some guilty pleasures.

I’ve probably done this before, but felt like doing it again.

I’d love your comments…

  1. Just over 25% of your albums (13/50) are from 3 bands (U2, Raidohead, Coldplay). I can’t say I blame you, though.

Glad to see some Full Moon Fever on the list!

  2. The most suprisig thing about this list, to me, is the absence of Arcade Fire’s “Funeral” given that “Neon Bible” is here. I like NB, but it hasn’t ever quite grabbed me like Funeral.

Also, some of the universally acclaimed albums here (Automatic for the People, Loveless, Strangeways) are longtime residents on my mental “albums I need to pick up” list; glad to see you approve.

    Lists are fun.

  3. The only reason “Funeral” didn’t make the list is that I do not currently own it.

    That shall soon be remedied.

I loved Neon Bible first, though, so I suspect the same principle that makes you (and many many others) love it more would apply.
