Kings

NBC’s new series, Kings, is a modern day retelling of the story of David.

We had an unusual say today at school, so I watched most of the pilot episode with several of my students. They were intrigued. I was intrigued.

It’s an imperfect project, but extraordinarily compelling.

Watch the pilot if you can (almost an hour and a half) and let me know what you think.

Radiohead – Bodysnatchers

Long live Rock and Roll

I do not
Understand
What it is
I’ve done wrong
Full of holes
Check for pulse
Blink your eyes
One for yes
Two for no

I have no idea what I am talking about
I’m trapped in this body and can’t get out
Ooooohhhh

Make a sound
Move back home
Pale imitation
With the edges
Sawn off

I have no idea what you are talking about

I’m trapped in this body and can’t get out
Ooooohhhh

Has the light gone out for you?
Because the light’s gone for me
It is the 21st century
It is the 21st century
You can fight it like a dog
And they brought me to my knees
They got scared and they put me in
They got scared and they put me in
All the lies run around my face
All the lies run around my face
And for anybody else to see
And for anybody else to see

I’m alive…

oh no no no no no no no no no no no no ma ma. (X3)

I’ve seen it coming. (X4)

Branding is something the Obama team did exceptionally well during the campaign.

Their skill continues…

Heard about this on the way home from school today on NPR. Every new project funded from the
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act will feature this logo. It’s a subtle but very smart move – further demonstrating that the Obama administration knows how to communicate and market itself to 21st Century Americans.

The NRA logo represents one of FDR’s 1933 New Deal programs.

U2 on Letterman – 06 March 2009

this is the last official post of my two and a half week blog love affair with U2.

For the last twenty years, they’ve been a real sounding board for many of my questions, answers, and ultimately a genuine love of redemptive art.

This song’s very much growing on me…

Hope you’ve enjoyed the trip.

Thanks for visiting.
