I am speechless, angry and deeply troubled.
May this movie spark the great 21st Century abolitionist movement.

I just saw a screening here in DC. It is a powerful, gripping movie. Everyone should definitely go and see it when it comes out!

“…justice is what love looks like in public.” Really? Does this strike anyone else as a dangerous statement?

I highly suggest the book “Not For Sale” by David Batstone as a companion to this movie, which I feel I need to see.

Yes you do. Although I think I’m gonna need it for at least the first few weeks of school so it could be a while.

The statement “justice is what love looks like in public” doesn’t really make sense outside of the context of what he’s talking about. In this scenario the just thing for the children is for them to be set free and for those who mistreat them to be punished. Out of love he says we should be called to action and that action justice. Therefore to him Justice is what love looks like in public.
That’s kinda how I took it anyways. All good speakers have such a wonderful way with words. Sometimes it’s, unfortunately, just simple poetry. Other times, it’s so much more.
I miss your class Mr. Webster.
This video is really disturbing.
