Tom Cruise on Scientology

In case you are the last person in the free world to hear about it, this video burst on the scene a few days ago.

Here are some notes I found to help as you watch:

Definitions:

*KSW (short for Keeping Scientology Working): A policy written byHubbard in the 1960′s that requires all Scientologists to follow hiswords and his rules exactly.”

Orgs: Orgs is an abbreviation for “organizations” and describes allchurches of Scientology throughout the world.

*David Miscavige: He is the current leader of Scientology. He’s theequivalent of the Pope to the Catholics.*Out-ethics: any behavior that violates any of Hubbard’s rules of conduct.

*Put ethics in on someone else: make others conform to Hubbard’s rulesof behavior.

*Criminon: Scientology front group that tries to recruit through the prisons.

* SP: Suppressive Person. Anyone that doesn’t like Scientology and/orcriticizes Scientology.

*PTS/SP: another Hubbard term to define behavior that goesagainst Scientology rules.

*LRH technology or “tech”: all the Scientology policies, rules, mandates, procedures.

I found this just recently as an interesting response to Scientology.

Certainly the video has a radical agenda that I do NOT endorse, but I find some of the observations to be quite thought provoking. No doubt both videos will provoke strong reaction.

Judge for yourself.

Discuss.

  1. that’s interesting. you know, after reading our reserve reading it’s tough to imagine believing in anything else other than what i believe in. there’s so much support for the Bible. i guess it’s complicated isn’t it.

  2. it is and it isn’t Amanda.

It just reminds me to be furiously gracious and avoid the kind of certitude that is often on display.

    It is a good reminder.

  3. Things like this show in a different light after having read That Hideous Strength, especially that part about “rehabilitating criminals”, sounds a bit like “remedial treatment.” Maybe I’m being paranoid.
