Authenticity (or not)

Spoke to a group of students tonight about their doubts. Encouraged them to live authentically.

I pray that I have the courage to take my own advice, and to live out what Peter was talking about:

1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, 7so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Bezalel & Oholiab (Exodus 31)

This past Sunday, our pastor John Suciu (check out the link to Wallen Baptist Church on the right side of the page) spoke on the song of Moses from Exodus 15.

In connection with this, he went to Exodus 31 & the construction of the tabernacle.

Referenced there are two men that YHWH equipped with skill to build and craft beautiful things.  It is a passage worth reading.

They are mentioned again in Exodus 36.

The LORD, the King of Glory, is certainly deserving of my very best in all my endeavors.  Let us strive together to honor him vocationally, whatever it might be.

Thanks to Bob Freeborn for his thoughts this morning.
